Relational Integrative Psychotherapy

Hello and Welcome to this Space

Relational Integrative psychotherapy is a model of therapy that looks to understand and explain how we function the way we do and why?

A way of understanding how we tend to build consistently some of our relationships with others and how these specific relationships continue to have an emotional impact on us we want to change.

It is a model that looks at our reactions in behaviours, emotions and thoughts through a healthy developmental lens as opposed to a pathological lens.

It is a theoretical approach that invites us to explore our patterns and connections with people so as to gain insight into our behaviours and learn how we can make choices that nourish us and our relationships in a more meaningful and fulfilling way.

Keeping in mind this frame of reference, it is essential for me that the space I offer is experienced by each person as safe and confidential, a safe space/place that welcomes the specific needs of each person I meet.

A space in which to connect, explore and understand together the difficulties and/or doubts that the person is coping with in their lives.

How this is impacting them in different ways in their relationships with others and with themselves, emotionally and physically.

I have frequently found that we can be often driven to try and do things on our own, because “that is what I have always done” or “should do”. We think that asking for help means I am “weak”, “incapable”, or that “nobody will be there for me that I can really trust”.

We believe: Life is…………… People are…………… and I am ……………

We tell ourselves that “ I can make it on my own”, “I don’t need anyone” or that “I will always have to depend on someone” “I will never be confident enough to trust my own judgement”.

I have come to understand and welcome that there are moments in each and everyone’s life in which we need to find a place and a person with whom we feel safe, a space with someone we can trust and we feel “gets’ us”
